Welcome to Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue

Carova Beach is a unique four-wheel-drive-only oceanfront community on the northern end of North Carolina’s Outer Banks.  The name Carova comes from the fact that it sits adjacent to the North Carolina (Caro) and Virginia (va) line and many of its original residents accessed the area through Virginia.

Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue services the 12-mile stretch of unimproved roads from the North Beach access at the end of the pavement in Corolla to the NC/VA line.

Station 7 is the primary station housing the apparatus and a landing zone for air medical services. Station 7-2 is located in Swan Beach and currently has a landing zone for air medical services. A future station is planned for this location to expand coverage capabilities.

Carova Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run organization. Our members donate their time to train and respond to fire and rescue calls in our service district.

Contributions from our community and supporters are greatly appreciated. Checks may be mailed to our station at
